HIGHLIGHTS

 

This sprint, expenses went live! 

 

Now, trip organisers can set a trip budget, track the group’s spending, and review all expenses in real time. Plus, travellers can easily submit expenses in one click (just forward receipts to [email protected]). 

 

In the expenses view in your Finch dashboard, you’ll see an overview of: 

  • Trip budget: The total budget for the trip
  • Trip expenses: The total of expenses so far (displayed in the currency set for the trip)
  • Remaining budget: The difference between the total trip budget and the current expenses (if the expenses exceed the budget total, the difference will be negative).

 

Expenses are multi-currency aware, so even if expenses are incurred in different currencies, they will all be set to the designated trip currency (or USD, if no currency has been set).

 

5 IMPROVEMENTS

 

  1. We restyled the way you see days when you’re viewing a trip. In addition to a cleaner design, you’ll also now see a note when there are gaps in the trips (days without any scheduled event). 
  2. We made some improvements to how workspaces and linked accounts work. When you switch to a different account, you’ll now see the right list of workspaces for that user.
  3. Workspace admins will be able to create a new user or edit an existing one from the members tab. 
  4. We will now automatically map ingested receipts to trips based on dates. If you have two trips in different workspaces for the same dates, we will do nothing (these receipts will need to be manually added).
  5. When an admin adds new members to a workspace, the new member will now receive a welcome email that includes the name of the workspace, the person who added them, and a link to the workspace.

 

7 BUG FIXES

  1. Before, when you deleted a workspace member, the tab would repopulate with the trips page. This has been fixed. 
  2. There was an error when forwarding receipts, where the submission date was set as the date of transaction. Now, the submission date will be set as the date you submitted the receipt. 
  3. Previously, some read-only users were still able to create, edit, and delete data in the workspace. It’s been fixed, so now only those with permissions can make changes. 
  4. When a user logs into the system via an account link (for example, to confirm or go to a specific admin page) and tries to view the list of workspace members, the system would return a 403 error. This has been fixed. 
  5. We fixed a bug which resulted in a currency discrepancy between the expense table and booking detail.
  6. Another expenses bug where the vendor name was not coming through when receipts were forwarded. This has also been fixed.
  7. In some instances, the external poll link was broken. It’s been fixed, so you can now poll anyone you want.
