Version 1.4

Here’s a look back at what we worked on in sprint 4. To learn more about what we released, check out our May product updates blog post

HIGHLIGHTS

Oh, the Places you’ll go

A big part of trip planning is choosing where to go. This sprint, we were heavily focused on making significant improvements to how Places works. Before, Places was simply a view of all your planned blocks that have locations set. So, if you had a hotel check in on day 1, and added the hotel address, this would show up as a place. A good start, but we wanted to help you add in places—both those you know you'll go to, but also ideas for places you might go. Read on to see what improvements we made to Places this sprint.

5 IMPROVEMENTS

  1. Search results are now based on the trip location. So if your plan has a known trip location, searching for lodging or other places will now return relevant results within the area.
  2. On the Places tab, you also now have the ability to filter the places to just those in the plan. You will also see an indicator as to whether a place has been added to the plan or not.
  3. You can now add new places to your plan, using quick search or text search, from the places tab. Through quick search, you should see the top 5 search results (filtering out any places that were previously added).
  4. You will also now be prompted to set a trip location if it’s not already set.
  5. Along with the other Places updates, we also updated the UI to use Google Places’ new API.

2 BUG FIXES

  1. Also related to places, we also fixed a bug where places wouldn’t always load. This bug tended to occur when the browser cache was disabled. We fixed it, so your places should now load consistently.
  2. We also made a UI fix to the mobile view of linked accounts.
