Version 1.8
3 HIGHLIGHTS
As you all have (hopefully) by now seen, our AI assistant is now live and ready to help you make the most of your next trip. This sprint, we made some powerful improvements to the way conversations work in Finch Assist.
- It’s now easier to locate and load previous conversations by searching with keywords. So, if you’d like to easily pull up last year’s EOY company offsite, you can just search with a keyword like “Q4 2024 offsite” and Finch Assist will find the information on the trip.
- Previous conversations saved in chat history now have more meaningful names, so they’re easier to identify when you’re scanning the sidebar.
- One of our big goals of Finch Assist is to help you build trips in real time. So now, if you ask Finch Assist to add a block on day 2, once confirmed, you will see that block appear. When working on the builder within a trip, the trip plan will also update to show changes as they’re being made.
7 IMPROVEMENTS
This sprint, many of our improvements were focused on smoothing out plan building. Here are a few of the changes we made:
- When you go to your trip detail page, you automatically land in the Plan tab. But, the Plan tab also appeared as the second tab in the list. This was confusing and has been fixed, so now the Plan tab is the first tab in the list.
- If you are creating a transit block and you set the departure date then we will now set the arrival date by default to the same day.
- We also added a warning to block dates if the block start date doesn’t match the day date and we added a confirmation modal so you can delete days.
- When we don’t actually know the specific dates of a trip, we will now only show Day 1 or Day 2 (instead of making up dates).
- When you create a new trip, the default used to be a two-day trip. However, we saw most trips were much longer than that, so we increased the default number of days to five.
- If you update a trip with new start/end dates, and the number of days is greater than what you previously had planned, we will now automatically add the extra days to the end of the trip. If you update a trip to be shorter, we will do nothing and leave the extra days (so you can choose which days to remove).
- If you remove participants from a trip, you likely no longer need their input. However, their poll responses were still appearing, skewing the results. We now automatically delete poll responses of participants after they are removed from a trip.
3 BUGS
- Before, when editing a transit block, you weren’t able to set the arrival date to be the same as the departure date. This has now been fixed.
- We also fixed a few bugs related to time zones, and a Chrome-on-Android specific bug where some users were unable to set block time.
- Another weird bug: The trip builder was sometimes adding dates on its own, deciding when you should take a trip (even if you didn’t know yet).
