Inviting participants

Inviting participants to a trip begins to unlock the collaborative power of Finch’s vision of trip planning. Invite anyone to a trip, whether you just want them to view the details, or they’ll be helping build the trip as a co-organizer.

 

Invite a participant

  1. On the trip header, click “invite to trip"
  2. Enter the email of the person at the top of the Participant list, and click the button “Add” or click "Generate invite link" to create a URL that you can copy and sent to people via some other channel, like Slack or Teams. They can then self-register.
  3. By default, there is an option selected to 'Send Invitation'. Keep this selected to send an invite email. If you don’t want them to be notified by email, just uncheck ‘Send invitation’.

Additional info related to Participants:

  • There are 3 types of participants.
    • Owner - the participant who created the trip, and has full edit access.
    • Standard - the participants with full edit access to the trip, not including the ability to delete a trip.
    • Viewer - the participants that can only see the trip details, but cannot edit anything.
  • Participants can also be added on individual Blocks in your Plan.
  • Connections is an area of Finch that shows you all Participants from all your trips.
