HIGHLIGHTS

Calendar authentication

You can now authenticate your Google calendar directly from Finch! This makes it easier to track and schedule meetings on the go.

Itinerary clean up!

Before, itineraries could get messy because they showed all bookings on a given day. This was especially an issue on the first/last days of a trip because there are often many bookings on those dates. We improved this, so now you’ll see a summary of travel / accommodation bookings at the top of each day (instead of seeing all the bookings listed in line).

Moving off of that improvement, when you expand the summary tile, you will now see details including: The user who uploaded the booking, details for flight and train bookings (flight number, carrier, etc.) and details for rental car bookings.

One email to rule them all

Rather than having multiple ingest emails for bookings and receipts, we will now only use one: [email protected]. The current email (@bookings.finch.travel) will remain functional, but we added a call to action in the Finch dashboard to remind you to forward your receipts and bookings to the new email address.

We also removed the ability to manually create accommodation and transit blocks. From now on, only event blocks can be created manually. Flight and accommodation will be handled by ingestion of bookings.

4 IMPROVEMENTS

  1. We made a few updates to expenses. Now, only the admin can see the summary of trip expenses. Additionally, it’s now possible to remove an expense from a trip and assign it to a different trip (or re-assign it back to the original trip). It’s also now possible to edit expense details that are incorrect.
  2. We made a few small design improvements to the infobox that sits at the top of the Inbox and also made it more clear that block-only participants are not trip participants.
  3. Sometimes you have receipts that are sent by email, so you don’t have a file to attach. Before, Finch could only ingest receipts when they were attached as files, but we changed this, so now we can read and ingest any receipt (even if it’s text in the body of an email).
  4. How many people are coming? We made it easier to see trip participants at a glance from your dashboard.

4 BUGS

  1. We fixed a bug that occurred when trying to add a block-only participant.
  2. Before, navigating to poll results from the external poll page was broken. It’s been fixed.
  3. We encountered a nasty bug where deleting a trip-level participant could crash the whole API server. This has been fixed, so you can now remove participants from trips without worrying Finch will collapse.
  4. Another bug where updating the trip currency required a page reload. It’s been fixed, so you can switch currencies to your heart’s delight!
