Responding to polls

After sharing a Poll (see Creating & sharing polls for details) your selected participants will receive an email notification that you’re seeking their input. There are two ways to respond to a Poll.

Respond via Email

  1. An individual receives a Poll request via email, which mentions the question being asked by the sender, and clicks the button in the email.
  2. They are sent to a page where they can respond to the single question Poll. Note - The respondent does not need to be logged in, or even a user of Finch. Anyone you specify by email can receive a Poll.
  3. The respondent submits their response.
  4. In Finch, you Poll results are updated by individual.

Respond within Finch

  1. Once a Poll is created (and is “Open”) a button will appear on the Poll that says Respond to Poll. Clicking this button will allow yourself, or any other logged in trip participant to respond to the Poll.
  2. The user submits their response, and the Poll results are updated.

Understanding Poll responses

  • Every Poll answer can be responded to with a Yes, No, or Maybe, or be left unanswered. The Poll results visible in Finch will show the distribution of answers by coloured bars.
  • Clicking on the Vote count for each option will show how each person voted (or didn’t vote). These are represented by icons that represent Yes, No, Maybe, and Unanswered.
  • Poll responses will be made more accessible in coming releases.
